Sun Rivers Development Corporation has won the National Community Development Award at the annual National Canadian Home Builders Association Awards of Excellence in Banff.

The SAM awards are presented annually by the national association to celebrate excellence in new homes and renovation design, innovative technology and construction techniques, outstanding presentation and marketing activities across the country.

The National Community Development Award recognizes excellence in performance by members who create attractive, exciting, innovative and environmentally responsible communities.

Entries were judged on community vision, architectural features, recreation, safety and quality of life features.

“Being judged against some of the best developments and communities in the country is truly an honour and a mark of distinction,” said Leslie Brochu Sun Rivers’ vice-president of marketing.

“Receiving this award means the Sun Rivers community has been deemed to be among the best in the country.”

The 460-acre Sun Rivers will ultimately have 2,000 homes, a resort hotel, a village centre and community amenities.
