Kamloops, TNRD win awards
The City of Kamloops and the Thompson-Nicola Regional District won awards at this week's Union of B.C. Municipalities annual convention in Vancouver.
Kamloops was been named the most small-business-friendly community in the Thompson-Okanagan region.
Municipalities provided information on their business-friendly policies as criteria for the award. The city's Venture Kamloops business arm and Kamloops' My City online program to track permits and applications were cited in the Tournament Capital garnering the award.
The TNRD won the Union of British Columbia Municipalities Community Excellence Award, in the regional district portion of the category of Leadership and Innovation, for its involvement in the Library Square public-private partnership project in North Kamloops.
