Northern Trailer will be busy building for Alberta
A Kamloops company’s workforce is expected to increase by more than 100 employees in the coming months to make good on a large contract from an Alberta oilsands company.
Northern Trailer will construct 750 dormitory units for a work camp in Fort McMurray — a contract worth $140 million.
Work will begin at Northern Trailer’s Kamloops location later this year, with completion slated for 2014.
Northern Trailer has 450 employees in Kamloops. But, according to parent company Horizon North Logistics, that number will increase by 25 per cent while the dorm units are under construction.
