Business Excellence finalists announced
The field is narrowing for this year's Kamloops Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards.
The 45 award finalists were revealed on Monday, Sept. 10, at a special event hosted at Kamloops Ford Lincoln on the North Shore.
To pare down the field of 168 nominees, a panel of 40 local business people scored each business based on a number of criteria, with the highest finishers in each category going on to the final round.
Next, finalists will be interviewed by the judges and will have to make a case as to why their business stands out from the pack, said chamber executive director Deb McClelland.
Many businesses were nominated this year for the first time, which McClelland said is a sign Kamloops' business community is growing.
"We really love to see we've got innovative people out here bringing services and products to Kamloops we haven't seen before," she said.
This year's award winners will be announced at the Business Excellence Awards Gala on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Kamloops Convention Centre.
