Family Day 2013 as tweeted by Kamloopsians
Kamloops area celebrated the province's first Family Day holiday, which took place on Monday, Feb. 11.
Harper Mountain was busy, as were trails and parks as families took advantage of beautiful and mild weather.
The holiday also helped Sun Peaks Resort set new records.
"We experienced the third-busiest day of the winter and the busiest February day on record," said Darcy Alexander, Sun Peaks Resort Corporation's general manager and vice-president.
Skier visits from Friday to Monday 45 per cent ahead of 2012 numbers, while resort overnight occupancy levels for Friday, Saturday and Sunday were close to 60 per cent more than last year.
