North Shore Artwalk returns for 2011
The North Shore Artwalk opens on Friday, July 29, at the North Shore Farmer’s Market.
The opening will take place at the Spirit Square (at the corner of Mackenzie Avenue and Yew Street in North Kamloops) from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The public is invited to meet the artists and get a sneak peak of the amazing artwork that will be showcased along the North Shore Artwalk.
In addition, the Kamloops Arts Council’s Rivertown Players will be performing skits from their Medieval Knights production, which they perform for free Tuesdays to Fridays a 1 p.m. at Riverside Park.
The North Shore Artwalk is an annual Kamloops Arts Council event that runs from July 29 to Sept. 5.
Artists are partnered with North Shore businesses to display their artwork and to promote the business.
All businesses taking part in Artwalk have a red foot with a number on the door.
Patrons visiting these businesses pick up a North Shore Artwalk brochure that lists all the artists and at which business they are displaying, along with a corresponding map.
Those taking part can start at Northills Shopping Centre, where they can park for free and pick up a coffee stamp card at participating businesses.
Once a patron has a minimum of 5 stamps, they can redeem it at the Northills Sandwich Tree for a free coffee.
Participants can also fill out the ballot on the bottom of the North Shore Artwalk brochure and return it to the drop box located at Northills Shopping Centre for a chance to win one of four $50 gift certificates.
