Videos highlight TRU
Thompson Rivers University’s recently launched Facebook contest promotes four new videos highlighting student life in Kamloops.
The videos are the winning results of 13 TRU students who were given digital video cameras for two weeks to capture how they were creating their own experience at TRU last December.
Footage from four of the 13 students was selected to create the point-of-view videos highlighting their experiences.
In less than two minutes, the videos reveal university is not only about studies, but also about friendships, experiences, memories and adventures along the way.
The contest at facebook.com/truworld asks participants to vote for their favorite video.
Voters are then entered into a contest to win one of three iPads.
TRU World, the international division of the university, operates a Facebook page with 71,000 users, the largest fan community of any educational institution in Canada.
“Canada is well known for having the highest quality of public post-secondary education,” said Mike Henniger, TRU international-marketing director.
“This contest and video series allows us to showcase the wonderful and active social life that student from other countries can enjoy when they come to study in addition to the strong academic programming they will receive.”
