Everyone invited to promote Canada
The country’s national tourism-marketing organization is looking for videos — from anyone who wants to send one.
The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) is running its 35 Million Directors project to create a video to use in its marketing to inspire people to vacation in Canada.
To compile what will ultimately be a two-minute video, it’s accepting submissions from anyone from now to Sept. 16.
Once all the film is received, the CTC will review everything and, with some footage from professional directors, put together the campaign tool.
The final video will be introduced in November at the Tourism Industry Association of Canada congress and will be shown to Canadians before it is used in any international campaigns.
Submissions can include anything that captures an authentic experience — an event, activity, city, farm, festival, hike, sport, museum, cuisine or nightlife spot, among other ideas.
“We’re out to create a story from the point of view of Canadians and what makes them proud about our great cities, our geography and nature, our cuisine, our culture, or perhaps the friendliness of a local festival,” said CTC president Michele McKenzie.
The CTC will also use submissions to create an inventory of videos and photos to share with provincial and territorial marketing partners.
