Talent show fundraiser for CMHA planned

There’s a client in one of the programs at the Canadian Mental Health Association who makes some of the tools Bill Jackson sells at his Cuz I’m Magic store.

It’s because of him the owner of the downtown store has decided to donate proceeds from his upcoming talent show to the CMHA.

Jackson is just starting to accept applicants for the Friday, Sept. 14, show at The Art We Are, 246 Victoria St.

He’s hoping for a wide range of talents to be shown — but no guitarists, he said.

Rather, he’d like to see other musical instruments featured, as well as the abilities of jugglers, ventriloquists and, of course magicians.

The CMHA client he referred to makes something called a mouth coil, a tool for magicians that, when put into play, allows them to appear to be pulling from their mouths a scarf  that changes colours.

“Because of this one guy,” Jackson said, “I just thought it would be good to help out the CMHA. It’s rewarding all the way around.”

The show starts at 6 p.m. Admission is $5.
