Wildebirds, Wildebeasts and Wildewoods, an exhibition by Marlene Wildeman, is at the Wilson House Gallery, 115 Tranquille Rd., until Nov. 14. Wildeman says her works are designed to defy categories, but inspire the viewer to wonder about the backstory to them. “Each one holds an invitation to be understood as a moment,” Wildeman says. “Something has happened just before, is happening in the painting, will happen as soon as the viewer looks away.” The gallery is open Mondays to Fridays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
