Help optometrists help others
Optometrists Mario Pozza, Lindsay Williston and Tyler Lowey of Kamloops Family Vision Clinic have joined the World Sight Day Challenge during October to help give the gift of vision to people in developing countries and underserved communities.
On World Sight Day (Oct. 11), the three doctors donated their exam fees to help the more than 600 million people in the world who are blind or vision-impaired simply because they do not have access to an eye exam or glasses.
The optometrists at the clinic are also inviting their patients to make a donation throughout October, either at the clinic, 613 Lansdowne St., or online at givingsight.org.
Optometry Giving Sight guarantees 85 per cent of all funds raised by optometrists and their patients go directly to supporting programs that give sight to those most in need.
