Dad’s bullying related trial to resume

There's been another delay in the trial of a Kamloops dad accused of driving his truck at a group of teenagers after his son was bullied at school.

David Frank Vasil's was charged with uttering threats and dangerous driving following a confrontation almost two years ago outside Beattie School of the Arts.

During the first day of his trial, which began earlier this month, court heard Vasil drove his truck up onto a grassy hill in the direction of a group of teenaged Beattie students after school on May 5, 2009.

One of the students in the group testified that Vasil, 43, then got out of the vehicle and confronted a number of students.

Court heard he was upset because his son had been the target of school bullies.

It's not yet known if Vasil will testify in his own defence.

Lawyers were supposed to meet last week to set a date for the trial's continuation, but that date now won't be set until at least Thursday, Jan. 27.
