Cops search for suspicious truck
Police are urging caution among parents after a number of female students in North Kamloops reported being approached by a suspicious man in a truck.
On Thursday (Feb. 10), Kamloops Mounties issued a press release stating a teenaged student on the North Shore had been approached by a man and offered a ride.
After that news was made public, police say, three more young women called RCMP to report similar incidents.
"Police are reminding the public to speak to their children about stranger awareness," said Kamloops RCMP Const. Cheryl Bush.
"Please encourage your children to report any suspicious events to an adult at the time they occur — do not wait."
The truck is described as a small pickup, possibly a Toyota, dark in colour.
The driver is believed to be an elderly man wearing glasses, with grey hair.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
