Strange encounter on McArthur Island
Police are hoping to fine a strangely dressed Kamloops man after a suspicious occurrence on the North Shore this week.
At 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, Mounties were called to the area near McArthur Island after a 15-year-old girl walking her dog said she was approached by an older man.
The teen told police she was approached by the man — who appeared to be either drunk or high — and asked to go home with him.
The suspect, who is believed to be about 60 years old, was last seen wearing a white and beige hat over a black cowboy hat, with a dark plaid jacket and blue and red track pants.
He was carrying a lunch box and a coffee mug.
Anyone with information is asked to call Mounties at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at
1-800-222-TIPS.
