Meeting planned to talk about forestry
Plenty of trees have fallen by the wayside to make way for the paper used to document the troubled forest industry in B.C. in recent years.
Now, a group led by a prominent union will be in Kamloops to meet with community leaders to discuss the state of the industry.
The head of B.C. Government Employees Union will meet with interested groups at the Coast Canadian Inn on Monday, March 7.
The BCGEU suggested more than 70 mills and 40,000 sector jobs have been lost in recent years.
The union said it hopes the meetings will help develop solutions to help revitalize the forest industry.
