‘Rampage’ lands teen in jail

A 19-year-old Kamloops man spent the night behind bars after Mounties found him shirtless in a downtown parking lot.

RCMP Staff Sgt. Doug Aird said police were called to the Value Village parking lot between Seymour and Victoria streets at 2:20 a.m. on Saturday, April 16.

Witnesses said a group of six men were beating one man.

But, by the time police arrived, all but one shirtless teenager had fled.

Aird said the teen was very intoxicated and is a potential suspect from a fight earlier in the evening near Stuart Wood elementary a few blocks away.

He was arrested and held to sober up.

“Police will see if any of the victims with to pursue assault charges from the earlier attack,” Aird said.
