Valleyview boat launch opens
The boat launch on Thompson Drive in Valleyview has been re-opened to the public.
The launch was closed during the winter months for extensive riverbank rehabilitation and erosion control.
Other improvements include additional truck and trailer parking and new landscape foliage.
The total value of the improvements is $150,000.
“The Valleyview boat launch is one of the busiest in the city,” said Nick DeCicco, Kamloops’ parks, project and planning supervisor.
“These changes will protect this asset for many more years and improve the overall experience for boaters.”
DeCicco noted the Department of Fisheries and Oceans’ co-operation on the project was integral in its completion.
