Police seeking driver of truck that hit girl
Kamloops Mounties are looking for the driver of a white work truck after a child was struck in a North Shore intersection earlier this week.
RCMP Staff Sgt. Grant Learned said an 11-year-old girl was walking along Fortune Drive near Northills Mall at about 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, when she was struck by the truck.
The girl told police the truck's driver left the vehicle and asked if she was OK. She said she was and the driver left.
When the girl got to school, she told her teacher what had happened and the teacher contacted police and the girl's parents.
The girl suffered scrapes and bruises and did not require medical attention.
Police, however, are hoping to talk to the driver of the truck. He is described as a man in his 30s, standing five-foot-six or five-foot-seven, with a scruffy unshaven face and dark brown hair beginning to gray.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
