Police probe robbery
Kamloops Mounties don’t have much to go on after a violent robbery on the North Shore left a man with cuts to his hand.
Staff Sgt. Grant Learned said police were dispatched to Wise Guys Car Wash, 1012 Tranquille Rd., at about 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 30, after an employee at the business called to report an injured man.
Officers arrived to find a 21-year-old Kamloops man bleeding from the hand.
He told investigators he had been confronted by five men, a knife was drawn and his wallet was taken.
The victim was taken to Royal Inland Hospital for treatment of a wound to his palm area, Learned said, while a police-dog unit was called in to look for the suspects.
The dog couldn’t track down any leads, but neighbours in the area told officers they’d seen what appeared to be money changing hands prior to a fight.
Two men drove away in a red car.
