Car runs onto sidewalk and over girl's foot
A Kamloops girl was lucky to escape serious injury after having her foot run over while walking on an Aberdeen sidewalk on the weekend.
RCMP Staff Sgt. Quentin Smith said the six-year-old girl was walking with her parents in the area of Hugh Allan Drive and Rogers Way at about 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 23.
Smith said an elderly male lost control of his vehicle and drove onto the sidewalk.
Injuries to the girl are minor.
The driver of the vehicle was given a ticket for driving without due care and attention and police have recommended he be re-tested for his driver’s licence.
