Airport passenger count rebounding

Kamloops Airport once again saw an increase in the number of passengers last month, compared to September 2010.

Last month, 20,373 people passed through the airport, a 3.5 per cent increase over the 19,683 who used the airport during the same month in 2010.

:As was expected, we are starting to close the gap on a drop in the number of travellers earlier in the year as compared to the previous year,” said airport manager Fred Legace.

“Each month is expected to contribute a small increase in travellers so that we should end the year close to even with 2010.”

Through the first nine months of the year, passenger traffic at Kamloops Airport is down 2.3 per cent from 2010, with 196,050 people having flown in and out of Fulton Field.
