Thief zapped by BC Hydro worker
A Kamloops crook narrowly escaped the grasp of a BC Hydro employee over the weekend after a vehicle break-in near the downtown core.
Kamloops RCMP Staff Sgt. Grant Learned said a 33-year-old BC Hydro worker spotted a man breaking into his work truck on the 1400-block of River Street at about 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9.
The man tackled the thief, but the moonlighter was able to get away.
The suspect is described as a white male, standing about six feet tall and weighing about 190 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans and a white hoodie with black lettering or a logo on the front.
He fled in a dark-coloured, short-box pickup truck. He was with a female, who is skinny and was wearing a red hoodie.
After being tackled, the crook dropped the items he had stolen from the truck.
