Another suspicious fire in NorKam
Police and fire investigators are looking into another suspicious blaze in North Kamloops — this time an ATV going up in flames near the McArthur Island skateboard park early Sunday morning (Nov. 13).
Emergency crews were called to the area just after midnight, after a passerby alerted police to a Gator ATV engulfed in flames in the park.
Ward said investigators are trying to figure out how the ATV was set ablaze.
“At this point, they’re trying to determine causal results of that fire to determine if it is an arson,” he said. “It is suspicious at this point.”
Ward said investigators are also looking into whether the ATV was stolen.
They are also trying to determine if the fire was the result of an electrical malfunction.
The blaze is the latest in a string of suspicious fires in North Kamloops this year, with more than a dozen dating back to April.
Anyone with information can call police at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
