Offender back behind bars on ‘instalment’ plan
A Kamloops man who is serving his two-year probation term on jail “instalments” was sent back to prison for four months on Wednesday, Dec. 14.
Dale Regan Olesko pleaded guilty in Kamloops provincial court to one count of breach of probation.
The 34-year-old was sentenced to 24 months of probation last year, but has spent the vast majority of that sentence in custody.
Most recently, he was handed a four-month sentence in September after pleading guilty to a separate breach charge.
He was released on Dec. 6, and told to report to his probation officer on Dec. 8.
He didn’t show up for the meeting and was later arrested.
“He’s essentially doing life on the instalment plan,” said defence lawyer Frank Caputo.
Olesko was originally under court orders stemming from a robbery conviction.
