Wanted man might be in Kamloops
A man with ties to the Kamloops area is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant after failing to show up this week to a half-way house in the Tournament Capital.
Police say Barrie Quirt Friesen should be considered violent, and not approached by the public.
Mounties obtained a warrant for the 53-year-old on Tuesday (Jan. 10), when he didn't turn up at the Kamloops half-way house he was supposed to report to.
He was last seen in Hope.
Friesen is described as a white man, standing five-foot-nine and weighing 177 pounds. He has brown and gray hair and blue eyes.
He has a number of distinctive tattoos, including the name "Katrina" on his left wrist, a panther on his right upper arm, a dagger and snake on his right forearm, the name "Cindy" and roses on his left forearm and the words "City of Angels" on his left wrist.
Friesen has a lengthy criminal history, including convictions in Kamloops and Salmon Arm.
Anyone who spots Friesen is asked to call 911 immediately. If you have information about his whereabouts, call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
