Peaceful end to Barriere standoff
A 20-hour standoff ended peacefully on the weekend.
Police were called to a home in Barriere at about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, for a possible domestic assault.
Mounties in Barriere aren’t saying much, but confirm the area around the home was cordoned off and a number of homes were evacuated.
The suspect was taken into custody on Sunday evening.
