Crash on Coquihalla kills one

A man is dead following a head-on collision on the Coquihalla Highway south of Kamloops last week.

Over the dinner hour on Thursday, Feb. 16, crews responded to a crash near the Inks Lake brake check.

Investigators believe a northbound Honda Civic crossed the centre median and struck a tractor-trailer.

Chris Cederfeldt, the 26-year-old driver of the Civic, was killed instantly. A beachside memorial was held in White Rock on Sunday for Cederfelt and his friend, 22-year-old Colin Dow, who died suddenly two days earlier on Valentine's Day.

A female passenger in the car was taken to Royal Inland Hospital in critical condition.
