Search on for missing Sun Peaks employee
Police and search-and-rescue crews are scouring an area near Sun Peaks for a foreign resort worker after she vanished while hiking to Whitecroft.
Kamloops Rural RCMP Staff Sgt. Doug Aird said 24-year-old Cinzia Pedrenie left Sun Peaks on foot at about 4 a.m. on Monday.
Pedrenie, who is from Switzerland but had been working at Sun Peaks, stands five-foot-four with an athletic, slender build and should-length brown hair. She was last seen wearing a blue coat, blue jeans and running shoes.
Investigators believe she might have been picked up by a passing motorist and are asking anyone with information to call police at 250-828-3000.
