Unlocked vehicles give thieves Easter treats
Easter was not happy for a number of Kamloops motorists who fell victim to long-weekend crooks, police say.
Kamloops RCMP Const. Michelle Kerpan said Mounties received multiple reports of vehicle break-ins over the weekend, in Upper Sahali and on the North Shore.
Items stolen included bags, wallets, purses, cash and credit cards.
Kerpan said a number of the vehicles were left unlocked, meaning easy access for criminals.
She said the thefts should serve as a reminder to remove valuables from plain sight and lock car doors.
