UPDATED: Kamloops traveller missing after ferry ride
UPDATE: Police say Devon Marko was located in Vancouver at about 1 p.m. on June 13.
Kamloops Mounties are hoping tips from the public will help track down a local man missing nearly two weeks.
RCMP Staff Sgt. Grant Learned said 22-year-old Devon Marko hasn't been seen since May 30, when relatives dropped him off at the Schwartz Bay ferry terminal near Victoria. He was supposedly heading back to Kamloops after a stay on Vancouver Island.
Investigators have traced Marko's cellphone to downtown Vancouver, but searches of the area have turned up no sign of the missing man.
He was apparently planning to bus from Vancouver back to Kamloops after the ferry ride from Victoria, Learned said.
Marko is described as a white male, standing six-foot-one and weighing 160 pounds. He has short black hair, brown eyes and no tattoos.
He is usually clean shaven.
Learned said Marko was last seen carrying a black backpack containing clothing and personal effects.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call police at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
