Council creates arts-centre task force
The wheels are slowly beginning to turn on one of last election’s campaign promises.
Kamloops council agreed this week to strike a mayor’s task force to study the feasibility of building a new performing-arts centre in the city.
The centre was one of Mayor Peter Milobar’s campaign plans during the November municipal elections.
At the time, he told media he envisioned a 1,100-seat venue in the $40-million range, possibly built in North Kamloops or in the downtown area.
