City council preview: Tuesday is the night to speak up on Tranquille
The latest vision for a village-style development at the former Tranquille sanatorium is up for public comment on Tuesday, June 26.
The Tranquille on the Lake neighbourhood plan is an update to the previous plan for 190 hectares at 4600 Tranquille Rd.
The new plan calls for 1,000 to 2,000 units of housing structured around a working organic farm. Plans include several parks, including a day-use space with a boat launch at Cooney Bay, but a golf course originally planned for the site is no longer moving forward.
The public hearing begins at 7 p.m. in council chambers at Kamloops City Hall.
