UPDATED: North Kamloops blaze might not be suspicious, KFR says
UPDATED STORY:
Fire investigators looking into an early-morning blaze in North Kamloops think they found their point of origin — and there's nothing suspicious about it.
"We're trying to determine right now just how suspicious this fire was," said Dan Funk, Kamloops Fire Rescue inspector.
Funk said the blaze began adjacent to a shed near a house in the 400-block of Royal Avenue at about 2:30 a.m. today (June 28).
"It actually started in the greenhouse," he said.
"There was a [electrical] receptacle found in the area of origin."
Firefighters were able to keep the majority of the destruction limited to the shed, but a nearby pickup truck was also damaged.
Funk said fire crews will likely remain on-scene into this afternoon.
