UPDATE: Who were those masked men?
It appears the two masked men who tried to rob a North Kamloops couple of money this week know the man in the relationship.
Police say a 19-year-old woman and her 20-year-old boyfriend were in the basement suite of a home in the 200-block of Baker Street when she opened her door to two masked men.
RCMP Staff Sgt. Fran Bethell said one man stepped into the house, holding a 12-inch object of some kind in his hand, He twice called out the name of the woman's boyfriend, asking where the money was.
The woman screamed for help from the homeowner who lives upstairs and the two masked intruders ran away.
Police responded, but could not find the suspects.
Bethell said no threats were made, no one was hurt and nothing was taken during the attempted robbery, but noted the homeowner was very shaken by the incident.
The suspects were both dressed in black clothing and black hoodies and were wearing different-coloured nylon-type wresting masks fit tightly over their faces.
Both are described as being thin, possibly of First Nations heritage. One stood about five-foot-10; the other was slightly shorter.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or have information about the crime is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
