Suspicious fire guts two vehicles
Police and fire crews are investigating a suspicious blaze that gutted two vehicles in Knutsford early on Halloween morning.
Kamloops RCMP Staff Sgt. Grant Learned said Mounties were called to a stretch of Highway 5A in Knutsford at about 3:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
Kamloops Fire Rescue had doused a two-vehicle fire in the area and deemed the blaze suspicious, Learned said.
A witness told police he was awoken by a loud noise and looked out his window to see a hole smashed through the back window of a Volkswagen.
Flames then erupted from inside the vehicle, he said.
The fire eventually spread to a nearby vehicle and caused extensive damage to both.
Learned said neither vehicle was insured.
The investigation is ongoing.
