Flashlight signals help find hikers
Flashlight signals helped Kamloops firefighters find three Kamloops residents who became stuck in rough terrain past Kamloops Airport.
Two men in their early 20s and a 16-year-old girl were rescued after the father of one of the trio reported the group overdue from a planned hike in the hills north of Cinnamon Ridge on Sunday night.
Mounties and members of Kamloops Search and Rescue went to the area, in the 4000-block of Tranquille Road, where Kamloops firefighters were already working to rescue the hikers, whom they found by using flashlight signals.
Two firefighters used ropes to make their way into the steep and rough terrain rescue the hikers, who were driven home by the father who make the original call.
