Dancing on its way to university?

Karaoke could be on its way to Thompson Rivers University.

The university is applying to have its liquor licence amended to permit dancing in its conference rooms in the Campus Activity Centre.

Under provincial regulations, food-primary liquor licences don’t allow for those kind of activities without a special “patron-participation endorsement” from the B.C. Liquor Control and Licensing Branch.

Kamloops city council took a look at the application this week and agreed to move ahead to gather public comments on the proposal.

Coun. Nancy Bepple, who works at TRU, recused herself from debate on the application.
