New contract for TNRD library staff
The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has reached a three-year contract agreement with the British Columbia Government Employees Union (BCGEU) that includes a two per cent pay raise in each year of the deal.
The current collective agreement was set to expire on Dec. 31.
The agreement applies to all unionized staff in the TNRD library system.
“The board of directors is very pleased with the amicable negotiation process and the favourable outcome,” TNRD board chairman Randy Murray said.
The new collective agreement is in effect from Jan. 1, 2013, to Dec. 31, 2015.
The TNRD covers 11 municipalities, including Kamloops, Sun Peaks, Chase and Logan Lake. and 10 electoral areas.
