WHERE ARE THEY NOW? Pump may yield business in 2013
The new owner of a former Westsyde fixture is hoping the new year will bring a new operation to the neighbourhood.
In May of 2012, Duane Henning — who also owns the Westsyder Pub — purchased the competing Westsyde Pump.
While the private liquor store on the site remains open, Henning shut down the Pump later that same month.
The site remains up for lease.
When contacted by KTW, Henning said he’s had some interest in the Pump location.
“There’s a few people looking at it,” he said, but declined to offer more details until papers are signed.
In the past, Henning has suggested to media the site might work for a family restaurant.
Henning said he hopes to see a new business move into the site some time next spring.
