Pedestrian injured in Costco run-in
Another Kamloops pedestrian has taken a hit in a parking lot.
A 67-year-old man was struck by the driver’s side mirror of a Chevrolet Silverado near the main doors of the Costco on Versatile Drive on Thursday, Jan. 10, at about 4 p.m.
Kamloops RCMP say the 53 year-old driver of the truck was making a left turn in the parking lot when the man suddenly came into view near the front of his truck.
Before the driver could stop, he had hit the man with his mirror, which was sheered right off the truck.
Police say the pedestrian reported not seeing the truck until it hit him.
The driver remained at the scene and offered assistance to the other man — who had a cut on his head and complained of chest and neck pain.
He was taken to Royal Inland Hospital, where it was confirmed he had suffered no injuries beyond the head wound.
The driver of the truck was issued a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
