Pineview Valley party gets police visit

Police were forced to shut down a house party in the 1700-block of Lodgepole Drive in Pineview Valley early Sunday morning (Feb. 10) after about 10 of the 40 people attending began fighting.

The owner of the house said the festivities had been planned to celebrate her daughter's first year at university, but got out of hand when a dispute between two of the teens grew to involve others.

No one was injured and one combatant in the initial fight did not want to press charges.

Police were called back to the house about 90 minutes later when one of the people involved in the earlier disturbance returned. He had entered the house and was removed by the owner and arrested by police, who found him in the neighbourhood.

After being given time at the detachment to sober up, he was released without charges.
