Cougar spotted near Sun Rivers
A cougar has been sighted near Sun Rivers and the G&M Trailer Court across Highway 5.
Kamloops Rural RCMP Staff Sgt. Doug Aird said a resident on G&M Road on the Tk’emlups Indian Band reserve heard a noise outside his trailer at about 11 p.m. on Wednedsay, Feb. 27.
Upon checking, the resident saw a young cougar outside and said he spotted the same animal at the same location and reported it to management of the trailer park.
The resident said the cougar was, apparently, seen the week before in and around Sun Rivers.
Aird said Mounties want the public to be aware of the animal's presence and ask that any sightings be reported to the local detachment at 250-314-1800 and to the Environment Reporting Line at 1-877-952-7277.
