Firefighters are working with contract

Re: (‘Battle over Kamloops firefighters’ contract heats up,’ July 18):
Unless Kamloops firefighters are working for nothing, their current terms of salaries and benefits continue until new terms are agreed to.
B.C. labour law stipulates that all salaries and benefits continue.
It is common practice by unions to use the ploy of working without a contract when, in fact, the opposite is true.
