Titans win provincial bronze

The South Kamloops Titans senior girls won bronze at the provincial AAA basketball championship in Vancouver on Saturday, March 12.

The Titans topped the Brookswood Bombers 71-64 in the bronze-medal matchup.

W.J. Mouat of Abbotsford edged the Claremont Spartans of Victoria 69-64 in Saturday’s final.

Emma Wolfram, who sprained her ankle earlier in the tournament, scored 23 points and pulled down 20 rebounds to pace the Titans.

Maya Olynyk notched 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Hailey Hamer-Jackson netted 12 points.

Katie Hubbard had 14 points and 13 rebounds.

The Titans lost to W.J. Mouat in a semifinal tilt on Friday, March 11.

Wolfram played the hero when she made a basket with 1.8 seconds on the clock in overtime to give the Titans a 72-70 win over the Riverside Rapids of Port Coquitlam in a quarter-final matchup in Vancouver on on Thursday, March 10.
