Three Blazers crack NHL scouts’ rankings
Colin Smith, Tyler Hansen and Dylan Willick of the WHL’s Kamloops Blazers cracked NHL Central Scouting’s final rankings for North American skaters.
The list was released on Monday, April 11.
Smith improved to 96th on the list from his mid-term ranking of 130th.
The 17-year-old forward finished third in Blazers’ scoring with 21 goals and 50 points.
Smith, an Edmonton product, was named to Team Canada’s roster for the under-18 IIHF World Under-18 Championship, which starts on Friday, April 18.
Hansen, a 17-year-old defenceman, is ranked 131st on the list.
The Magrath, Alta., product scored two goals and 12 points in 70 games with Kamloops last
season, his second with the club.
Willick, an 18-year-old forward from Prince George, is ranked 164th.
He finished the 2010-2011 campaign with 24 goals and 44 points in 72 games.
