The Kamloops Blazers selected Tim Bozon of Switzerland with the 27th overall selection in the 2011 CHL Import Draft on Wednesday, June 29.

Bozon, a six-foot-one, 184-pound forward, played with an under-20 Swiss squad — HC Lugano — last season, registering 16 goals and 29 points in 27 games.

Born in St. Louis in 1994, Bozon spent most of his youth in France and Switzerland.

Bozon, who is eligible for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, has twice suited up for France's under-18 national squad.

He is the son of Philippe Bozon, who played 144 games in the NHL with the St. Louis Blues from 1991 to 1995.

Bozon's selection marks the second time Kamloops has selected a Swiss import, the first being Janick Steinmann with the 18th overall pick in the 2005 import draft.

The second of Kamloops' two import roster spots belongs to Marek Hrbas.

Kamloops traded its fifth-round pick in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft and the 18th overall pick in today’s CHL Import Draft in exchange for Hrbas and the 27th overall pick in today’s import draft.
