Armstrong wins again
Dylan Armstrong of Kamloops threw 21.55 metres on his fourth attempt to win gold in men's shot put at a Diamond League meet in Birmingham, England, on Sunday, July 10.
Tomasz Majewski of Poland placed second with a throw of 20.90 metres.
The Kamloops product is No. 1 in the Diamond League's shot put standings.
A prize of US$40,000 and a diamond trophy awaits Armstrong if he can hang on to win the competition.
Armstrong will be in Toronto, Monaco and Stockholm before returning to Kamloops in August to begin preparing for the world championships in Daegu, South Korea, where he will compete on Sept. 2.
