Allen wins silver at junior track nationals
Spencer Allen of the Kamloops Track and Field Club (KTFC) won a silver medal in pole vault at the Canadian Junior Track and Field Championships, which wrapped up on Sunday, July 10, in Winnipeg.
The St. Ann's Academy graduate jumped 4.50 metres, topping his personal-best mark of 4.30 metres, to finish second behind Jake Pfaff of Ontario, who jumped 4.60 metres to claim gold.
Kala Stone of the KTFC, a long-distance runner, also attended nationals, but did not medal.
