Valentine's week
Vancouver Whitecaps’ legend Carl Valentine, now an ambassador and staff coach with the Major League Soccer club, is one of the instructors at the Whitecaps-Kamloops Soccer School, which kicked off on Monday, Aug. 22, on McArthur Island.
Valentine had an illustrious career with the Whitecaps of the 1970s and 1980s and won a North American Soccer League championship in 1979.
He also represented Canada at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico.
The soccer school runs from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. through Friday, Aug. 26.
