Broncos suffer costly defeat at Hillside
The Kamloops Broncos lost 28-10 to the Langley Rams on Saturday, Aug. 20, at Hillside Stadium.
Kamloops’ defence allowed 393 yards passing and three TD passes, all of them caught by Rams’ receiver Nick Downey.
The Broncos (1-3) and Rams (1-3) are tied for fourth place in the British Columbia Football Conference, one game up on the Chilliwack Huskers (0-4), who are in the conference’s basement.
The Vancouver Island Raiders and Okanagan Sun are tied atop the conference with matching 4-0 records.
Kamloops travels to Victoria to meet the Westshore Rebels (2-2) at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27.
A loss to the Rebels would seriously hurt the Broncos’ chances of earning their first-ever playoff berth.
